Should you attempt to sell your home yourself?
Assume for the moment that you are considering selling a home in Weston. You have several choices, there is always a great Realtor, Craigslist.com or the DIY plan. DIY stands for do it yourself. Craigslist certainly is a force to be considered and it is extremely powerful and in most instances is free. Now Realtors charge a commission to assist in the sale of our Weston home and we all try to save money anywhere we can, however, I am going to tell you that this may very well be a very bad place to try to cut corners. I know from decades of being in the real estate industry, that some homeowners are going to attempt the sale of their Weston house by themselves and I wish them all God’s speed. As an example you will want to hook up with a mortgage broker so that you can have people who express an interest in your Weston home be in direct contact with them in an effort to find out what type of loans they qualify for. This will save a lot of time dealing with folks who can’t buy your house no matter how badly they say they want to.
You may also decide that using a real estate attorney is a good move or at the very least hook up with the title company that will handle the closing for you once you find a qualified buyer.
